Contact Sheet I’ve now moved into my new studio at 424 Broadway in Soho, and I love it! I’m still shooting clients here in Stuyvesant Town for the next week, but I already love the feeling of having a separate workspace to go to each day. Thanks to everyone who emailed me about apartment leads; I’ll be moving into my new place in Park Slope on November 1st. I’ve received a lot of great business from word of mouth in the past month thanks to old clients. Often, when I inquire as to how the past client is doing, the new client informs me that the friend has found the love of his or her life! If you are one of my clients who is now happily ensconced in a relationship (or just dating a lot and having a great time), I would love to hear about it. Don’t forget about me! What’s wrong with this “before”? The ‘before’ shot looks like it was taken for an I.D.—a driver’s license, office identification, or a passport. She’s facing the camera head on, the lighting is unflattering (she looks washed out), and her neutral expression conveys neither mystery nor friendliness. In the ‘after’ photo you can definitely get more a sense of her personality, and you can see her beautiful blue eyes much more clearly. The fear seems to be that once your partner hears your truth, that he/she will not want you any more. So the tendency is to put off, evade, or lie about significant facts or events. Lying (by commission or omission) in your profile – about anything, but particularly what can easily be seen in a face-to- face meeting, can make for a pretty miserable first date.
