Past Issues

Since I started SingleShots two years ago, clients have been asking me how they can meet each other. I am happy to announce that in June, to celebrate our birthday, I am finally throwing a party to get everybody together. Details of the where and when are below in the newsletter, and I hope to see everyone there.

Going forward, I plan on organizing more events in the future, so if anyone has any specific ideas/requests, please let me know!

Best,
Mindy

Event:

We're Two! Come Celebrate!

This June, SingleShots is turning two, and we're throwing a birthday party!
We've photographed over 800 people since we started, and made connections with everyone during their shoots. I know some of you are not single anymore, and some are still looking, but I've met so many amazing people that I thought it was about time I got everyone together.

There will be great drink specials (the bar makes a mean mojito), homemade birthday cupcakes by me, party games and entertainment (don't worry, I won't force anyone to play), and a raffle with numerous prizes, including a photo shoot from SingleShots, a consultation with the Love Coach Robin Gorman Newman, a profile makeover by PersonalsTrainers.com, and gift certificates for breakfast and dessert for two from Café Mozart.

I will probably be using some photos from the last two years as small decorative touches for the party, so if you strenuously object to your photo being used, let me know.

My clients range in age from approximately 30-55+, so it should definitely be a fun mixed crowd. I have more women clients in general, so men, bring friends! Everyone should feel free to bring friends, and RSVP as soon as you can so I can make sure we have enough room.

Where: Kanvas, 219 9th Ave. and 23rd St.
When: Tuesday, June 14th, 7-10pm
Cost: $15 in advance, $20 at the door.

RSVP

Double Shot:

Cindy and Rob, Engaged March, 2005

Dear Mindy,

You changed my dating life. I had lukewarm responses to my dating profile, which at first turned me off to the whole venture. Various friends had tried to take a good picture of me but let's face it- you're only going to ask your closest friends - and they may not be good photographers. I decided to bite the bullet and call you on a friend's recommendation. To this day, these are the most beautiful pictures taken of me. Within a few hours of uploading the pics I had more emails than I knew what to do with. Eventually I met Rob - the most amazing man on the planet (getting married September 2005) - and I owe it all to you.

Thanks,
Cindy

Make It Your Business to Find Love”

Today, especially in New York City, many singles have achieved professional success. Yet despite their business accomplishments, many still long for a loving companion, a partner with whom to share their successes, and their lives.

Unfortunately, many singles become frustrated seeing the investment of their time and energy in dating frequently turn into rejections and dead ends. Consequently, their lives are unbalanced – while they experience professional success, their love lives are filled with disappointment. Rather than continue feeling discouraged and frustrated by dating, singles instead fill their lives with more work.

What can you do when you feel pulled away from pursuing a life partner relationship by the familiarity and comfort of work? How can you keep focused on attaining your relationship goals when the road to attaining them is so challenging?

The key is to identify behaviors in your professional life that make for success, and then adapt them to your personal life. When a financial analyst I know goes to professional seminars, he pays close attention to the people asking questions, and then seeks them out later. Following his instincts in this way has helped him succeed in business.

This same strategy can be used in his personal life. By listening closely to what others are saying when attending parties or other social events, he can segue into conversations about mutual interests, and learn more about a woman to initiate a potential relationship.

A medical researcher I know conducts thorough investigations using the scientific method to prove or disprove her hypotheses. This strategy can be utilized in dating as well. By asking questions, listening to answers, and observing the behaviors of men she dates, she gathers information to determine if she wants to pursue a relationship, or not.

Most successful business-people (Donald Trump included) recognize that “the art of the deal” involves the investment of time, patience and commitment. Any successful venture requires persistence over time to succeed. Finding and creating a life partner relationship is no different.

Make it your “business” to find love. Identify the skills you already use to get results in your work-life. Then see how these strategies can be applied toward finding and creating a gratifying life partner relationship.
