CIMC Wetrans Full Link Protection! Three Intelligent Platforms in Qingdao Set Out on the Same Vesel
Recently, three intelligent jack-up offshore operation support platforms – “JANA505”, “JANA508”, and “JANA509” - constructed by Qingdao Haixi Heavy-duty Machinery, with professional and comprehensive logistics support from CIMC Wetrans Shandong Shipping Company, safely boarded a semi-submersible vessel and slowly sailed away from the anchorage in Qingdao Port, officially embarking on a voyage to the Middle East. The three platforms shipped this time are the third, fourth, and fifth platforms in the series of platforms ordered by JANA Company from Haixi Heavy-duty Machinery. Since the cooperation, CIMC Wetrans Shandong Shipping Company, with its rich experience and professional team, has provided one-stop logistics service guarantees for this series of platforms covering launching, berthing, sea trial, piling, wet towing and loading, etc., and ensured that every aspect is accurate and error-free with a rigorous attitude and efficient execution.
This is the first time in the history of Qingdao Port that three platforms are loaded on one vessel. The loading operation faces many complicated working conditions and the difficulty is not to be underestimated: the limited deck area of the semi-submersible vessel brings great challenges to the loading and fixing of the platforms. The long time span of the operation is a severe test of the personnel’s energy and patience. Frequent foggy weather and low visibility in early summer in Qingdao pose a potential threat to navigational safety. Coupled with the complicated sea conditions such as turn of tidal current, each risk point may affect the entire shipping plan.
CIMC Wetrans Shandong Shipping demonstrated excellent coordination capabilities during this shipment process. After confirming the undertaking of this operation task, the team quickly established a close communication mechanism with Qingdao Maritime Bureau, Qingdao Pilotage Station, Qingdao Port Business Department, barge companies, owners and shipowners to ensure real-time sharing of information and seamless connection in all aspects, which provided a strong support for accurate decision-making and efficient execution. Based on close collaboration and professional insights, the team developed an optimal logistics solution that takes into account safety, professionalism and efficiency. With the strong support and assistance of Qingdao Port supervision units, pilot stations, [bureau dispatching (局调)] and barge companies, the three platforms successfully completed the wet towing and loading operation, which built up a solid foundation for the ocean voyage. The successful completion of this task not only highlights CIMC Wetrans’ profound professional expertise and responsibility in the field of marine engineering logistics, but also accumulates valuable experience for similar projects in the future.
It is worth mentioning that since January 2024, CIMC Wetrans Shandong Shipping Company has carried out in-depth cooperation with Qingdao Haixi Heavy-duty Machinery in the field of platform launching and loading, and has provided the company with services such as launching, berthing, and piling for multiple platforms. The relevant head of CIMC Wetrans said that in the future, CIMC Wetrans will continue to leverage its technical accumulation and resource advantages in the field of marine engineering logistics, and contribute more to the development of China’s marine economy and help China’s marine industry to move to a new height with more professional logistics services and innovative logistics solutions.
